Our Ongoing COVID-19 Response


Our office opened May 18, 2020 to resume most routine dental health care procedures.  It truly is imperative that routine dental services resume in order to help our patients maintain proper dental health, function and appearance.  In the face of the ongoing presence of new and active COVID-19 cases however, our primary focus remains on the safety and general wellbeing of our patients and our dental health team.  Specifically, these are some of the pieces that are in place to ensure that our environment is safe for both YOU and us:

  1. Each morning upon arrival the body temperature of each dental team member is checked and recorded.  Team members are asked to respond to questions regarding respiratory symptoms and general feelings of wellbeing.  

  2. To provide for proper social distancing our dental appointment schedule has been modified to create staggered start times.  This helps to minimize multiple people arriving at the same time.  

  3. Social distancing is practiced amongst our dental team.  Our own arrival and lunch times are staggered to help provide safe distance.

  4. Patients are verbally coached prior to arrival with regard to calling into the office before coming in to ensure that we are prepared to greet them with a temperature check and a series of questions intended to help identify persons potentially carrying the COVID-19 virus.

  5. Magazines, children’s toys, TV remote, etc. have been removed from our reception room to eliminate items that hold potential for cross-contamination. 

  6. Maximum occupancy for our reception room during this phase of the pandemic will remain at three people.

  7. Patients are asked to wait in their cars/trucks until we are able to move them directly into their treatment operatory.  

  8. Face masks are provided for all patients not wearing a face covering of their own.

  9. Commonly touched surfaces: door handles, light switches, counter tops, etc. are on an hourly anti-microbial wipe down schedule.

  10. An acrylic barrier is in place at the front desk.

  11. Each of our six treatment operatories are equipped with a Medify Air MA-14 air purifier providing H-13 true HEPA medical grade air filtration.  

  12. Dental team members are equipped with proper personal protective equipment which includes gloves, face mask, face shield, protective eyewear, and clinical coat.

  13. Treatment operatory surfaces are disinfected between each patient.

  14. Statim steam autoclaves are used for sterilization of dental instruments.


We will continue to monitor the numbers provided by Governor DeWine’s office on a daily basis.  Until the number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths have approached ZERO, there will continue to be some limitations on the procedures we are able to safely provide.  Even with use of medical grade air filtration, aerosols generated in a dental setting during certain treatment procedures will continue to pose a threat to the safety and wellbeing of our patients and our team.  We will ask for your continued patience while we all await an environment that allows for a complete and full slate of treatment options.
